Mixing it with the Phoenix: Thank you and well done to the 16 Inter 1, Inter 2 and Junior 1 players from Oakdale and Inter 3 Players from Cheerio who came out to train with the Phoenix squad last night as a part of the Intermediate DTE and Player Pathways Program for the Phoenix. They all participated in a high intensity warm-up and then embarked on balls skills, one on one defence and specialist sessions with the Phoenix Squad. The session finished off with match play against the Phoenix team – a definite high light for all players. This program is a part of the player pathway for the Phoenix. The programs which help support development of future Phoenix Players include the Junior Development Program, Inter DTE and Player pathways (Talent ID) program and the Athlete High Performance program. These programs aim to challenge the players to increase their skills level, learn the craft of netball and be introduced to the rigour involved in a Daily Training Environment (DTE). The long term vision of these programs is to provide a pipeline of players who will ensure Phoenix’s success into the future. Well done on your participation ladies |
